In the competition for the Building of the Year in the Plzeň Region, the residential building on Papírnická Street in Plzeň received the Businessmen's Award in Construction for the year 2019. The general contractor for the construction of this architecturally significant, barrier-free building, which is set into the slope above the Radbuz River, was the company MIRAS – construction and remediation, s.r.o.
This architecturally successful project in the shape of a wedge creates unique positions for 138 apartments with terraces and balconies. The construction also includes an integrated parking garage with covered parking for 180 cars, as well as 700 m² of office space available. The company MIRAS – construction and remediation, s.r.o., thus continued its successful collaboration with the developer BC Real (the Světovar residential building) and took on the realization of the significantly more demanding project Apartments Papírnická. This challenge was successfully met. The construction of the building took place from January 1, 2018, to December 2019.
The company MIRAS – construction and remediation, s.r.o., demonstrated a comprehensive professional approach in the execution of the entire construction. When we talk about a professional challenge, let’s take a closer look at some details of the project.
As confirmed to us by the managing director of the company Michal Fictum, extraordinary architecture often requires demanding functional solutions and a disciplined approach to execution. "For example, the incorporation of the building into the challenging terrain required a very complicated reinforced concrete load-bearing system. This technically disciplined solution of the shell construction had to be executed efficiently and without delays. The best solution turned out to be carrying out all monolithic structures directly by MIRAS – construction and remediation, s.r.o., which was indeed a significant achievement considering the volume of more than twelve thousand cubic meters of reinforced concrete. With this step, it was possible to reach the ninth and highest floor of the building as early as March 2019. Together with our approximately thirty partners and subcontractors, we faced another, much more demanding task. We committed to completing the entire construction on time and to the quality that the developer uncompromisingly required. It was clear that the new apartment owners would apply for the possibility of implementing client changes, and so it happened. We were able to stand firm and meet the investor's ambition. Our company provided client changes on time and in the required quality," says the managing director of the company today with a smile.
The occupancy permit for the residential building Papírnická was granted in December 2019. After New Year, the first residents of the building were able to move in and enjoy beautiful living with a view of Plzeň.
