COBRA Q – unique door fittings

The task for the development of the Q door hardware was to create a premium collection of handles with a minimalist design that simultaneously meets the highest demands for quality and especially ergonomics. Renowned designer Petr Novague collaborated with Cobra on the development.

The combination of modern technologies and design expertise has resulted in a great result in the form of the Cobra Q hardware collection – Spectra, Infinity, and Ultima.


"The new series of handles intentionally features distinct models. In particular, the Q Spectra handle is ergonomically very bold and defines a new type of grip that works with the thumb position when holding the handle. Infinity and Ultima stand out with their clean lines; especially with the Infinity handle, we have achieved the edge of design purity," says Petr Novague. "We definitely did not make any compromises in the area of ergonomics; the grip of the handle cannot be deceived in any way."

Each handle is made from a single piece of premium Zamac alloy, which further emphasizes the simplicity of the shapes. The use of a zinc, aluminum, magnesium, and copper alloy ensures sufficient hardness and scratch resistance, long-term quality, and trouble-free functionality.


The uniqueness also lies in the optimal internal mechanism of each handle. "We know how to work with the highest quality materials and what technologies to use to ensure the long-term functionality of our door hardware," stated Kristina Boda, director of Cobra. "In the case of the Q collection, we focused not only on the quality of the internal mechanism but also on unprecedented surface treatment quality of the handles in mass production. With the new collection, we are appealing to the most demanding customers, and we cannot afford any imperfection."

The fact that it truly represents the top among handles is evidenced by the fact that each model of the Cobra Q collection received the Red Dot Design Award 2019 this year.


"The Cobra Q collection radiates seriousness, solidity, and integrity. Q is for people who care about what they are surrounded by. For people who can appreciate that when two do the same, it is not the same," concludes Petr Novague.
