Doors and door fittings in public spaces generally face entirely different demands than doors in apartments or family homes. The frequency of door openings and the manner of handling are diametrically opposed. Do you take into account the modes of use in your buildings as well?

If we start from the classification of door fittings according to ČSN EN 1906, we should be dealing with at least category 3 for object fittings, but preferably category 4. Category 3 corresponds to the frequency of use, for example, in offices, while category 4 door fittings are suitable for all areas where not only frequent but also "rough" use occurs – such as in schools, restaurants, and barracks. Door handles in school classrooms or pub restrooms could tell stories...

After the successful introduction of door fittings with SlideBloc® 3.0 and PullBloc® 3.0 bearings, the company Cobra brings to the Czech market the highest range of bearing fittings, PullBloc® 4.1. This collection of door fittings represents the pinnacle of the offer addressing door opening in public spaces.

How does the PullBloc® 4.1 bearing fitting work?

"It is evident from the name of the door fitting that the internal mechanism contains a ball bearing. An important feature of PullBloc® 4.1 is that both rosettes contain hardened steel bearings, not just one, which ensures minimal friction, silent operation, and a very long lifespan," explains Jan Nečas, product specialist at Cobra, the largest Czech supplier of door fittings. "The housing contains four strong return springs that create constant pressure and ensure the silent and gentle return of the handle to its original position after being pressed."

"The entire polyamide housing combines with the square drive and handle to form a single unit, making the PullBloc® 4.1 door fitting completely solid, long-term without play, and practically maintenance-free, which is extremely important in public spaces," adds Jan Nečas. "The quality of the fittings in variant 4.1 is enhanced by the use of handles with a diameter of 22 mm, which are sturdier and fit better in hand."

What are the greatest advantages of Cobra PullBloc® 4.1 bearing fittings?

  • They correspond to object class 4, and due to the materials used and technology, they can withstand long-term excessive loading
  • The quality of the internal mechanism is tested for 1,000,000 opening cycles. For this reason, a 30-year warranty is provided on the mechanism
  • Ball bearings are in both rosettes, which ensures long-term axial strength
  • The polyamide housing, square drive, and handle form a single unit that rotates together – reducing friction and significantly extending the lifespan of the entire system
  • Easy and quick installation – fixing protrusions on the rosette prevent spinning, ensuring stability and simplifying installation. The installation itself is very quick also due to the uniform fastening system across the entire thickness of the doors.

What bearing fittings do we have to choose from?

Just like with the SlideBloc® 3.0 and PullBloc® 3.0 variants, we also have the option to choose between three design variants – Loft, Vision, and Ufo, in the most advanced version. However, the PullBloc® 4.1 variant uses handles with a diameter 10% larger, namely 22 mm.

Jan Nečas from Cobra adds: "For object fittings, more than anywhere else, we can consider different designs or colors, but let’s not make unnecessary compromises in quality."
