When architect Rocco de Lentinis was invited to renovate the old offices of TR Inox and transform them into bright, elegant, and modern spaces, he turned his attention to the innovative white ceiling tile Rockfon Blanka®, which can bring natural light deeper into the space.

TR Inox is an Italian company that manufactures steel accessories for the maritime industry. The company is owned and run by two brothers, Antonio and Roberto Rizzelli, who took over years ago after their father. In 2019, they decided it was time to renovate the TR Inox offices to incorporate the values of their company: innovation, ambition, competence, and challenge. The brothers invited architect Rocco de Lentinis to lead the renovation project and commissioned him to create a modern design that would transition TR Inox into the future.
De Lentinis envisioned a beautiful, elegant, modern, and above all, acoustically pleasant space. He wanted the office to be a place where people would enjoy spending their workday. "Acoustic comfort is essential for any workspace," explains de Lentinis. "It's an absolute necessity for us to achieve a better quality of life since we spend the majority of our day in the office. People should not be distracted by unpleasant noise."
This was a challenge since the space consisted of meeting rooms and offices, making sound insulation between rooms crucial to ensure focus and maintain privacy. De Lentinis chose acoustical ceilings Rockfon Blanka® dB 46 because they offer high sound absorption that maintains a pleasant sound level in the room while also providing high sound insulation that ensures noise does not spread to adjacent rooms.
De Lentinis wanted a modern ceiling tile that would complement his design, which is why he also chose the tile Rockfon Blanka® with an E edge. "I wanted the office to feel elegant, and I felt that the E edge was the best solution for this purpose," he says. "I also like the texture of this ceiling panel. It gives the offices a subtle look and a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere."
After the renovation was completed, the new office was opened in October 2019. The ceiling exceeded the expectations of De Lentinis and the employees of Tr Inox. An unexpected benefit was that the ceiling, in addition to its acoustic properties, illuminated the entire space. The Rockfon Blanka® panels have a special light-reflecting surface that attracts natural light and reflects it throughout the space. Now the Rizzelli brothers and their employees enjoy an elegant space that looks brighter, sounds better, and feels healthier.
