The competition for producing larger ceramic tiles is most likely coming to an end. Working with tiles measuring 150 x 300 cm and weighing nearly 100 kilograms hits both human and technical limits during installation, so in this report from this year's edition of the most significant Italian exhibition of ceramic flooring and cladding Cersaie 2013, we can calmly focus on a short overview of the designs and motifs that manufacturers dedicated the most space to in their displays.
The 31st edition of Cersaie, which took place at the end of September in Bologna, showcased the latest trends and, just like last year, became a strong source of inspiration for our ceramic tiles studio Archtiles.

For several years, tiles imitating various woods have taken the first place. With a few small but significant exceptions, all manufacturers at the fair presented these products. They pointed out that the arrival of digital technologies in the production of ceramic tiles has once again made significant progress in imitation, and the use of these tiles is no longer considered a compromise solution.

On the contrary, thanks to their technical properties, convincing design, and realistic format, they offer very high-quality, long-term solutions for public and heavily trafficked spaces without the need for special maintenance. And this is at prices that are about half that of traditional wood for similar designs.

The traditional European manufacturer of two-layer wooden floors LISTONE GIORDANO MARGARITELLI had a very attractive stand at the fair. We could not resist the charm of real wood combined with the manufacturer's philosophy and have tentatively included these products in our assortment.

The most interesting trend we noticed at the ceramic tiles and cladding fair is a return to original motifs of ceramic tiles. The first sign of this trend is the FRAME tiles from the company REFIN, which we recently presented on the Czech market.

Other manufacturers quickly responded to the popularity of these tiles. Noteworthy is the sintered rectified version in the format of 29.75 x 29.75 mm from the manufacturer APARICI, which is intended for both private use and heavily loaded spaces. In the original formats of 20 x 20 mm and 15 x 15 mm in glazed execution on a sintered body, we consider the most interesting achievements of the company MADE A MANO, while the more affordable version comes from RECER.

A previously unknown manufacturer of glazed tiles and mosaics will enrich our assortment the most. We have already started preparing a separate article for you, which I would like to invite you to in advance…
