A major reconstruction took place last year in Pardubice's Třída Míru. The main artery of the city saw not only new surfaces, but the engineering networks were also reconstructed. Part of the overall reconstruction included the complete implementation of new drainage, which was resolved unusually here – into arcs. The company ACO Stavební prvky designed a solution using linear channels ACO Monoblock RD 100 in black. The total length is approximately 1400m. The black version was chosen by the investor for aesthetic reasons, and the monolithic structure was preferred for its strength and resistance to vandalism (there is no risk of theft of cast iron grates here). The atypical nature of the solution lay in the implementation of the arched parts of the channels so that the requirements for aesthetics were met while maintaining the functionality of the entire system.
The ACO Monoblock RD system is typically manufactured in 1m sections, and if arcs were assembled from 1m sections, an unsightly and technically poor detail would occur at the joints of individual pieces. The arcs were cut at specified angles directly in the production based on the technical documentation.
The result is an overall line executed in arcs. The project was completed in July and August 2014. For more information about ACO Monoblock, please find it here.
