Vladimír's bookstore Serius and the civic association PLAC cordially invite you to the 24th lecture in the series "Printed Architecture". This time, on Friday, February 27, 2015, at 6:30 PM in Jablonec, we will welcome architects Vladimír Balda and Petr Šmídek, whose lecture will focus on the book Paths to Poland, which was created at the Faculty of Art and Architecture of the Technical University of Liberec, as part of a series of authors within the project Architecture Outside the Centers. Contemporary Polish architecture is not very well known in the Czech Republic except for a few exceptions. However, not far from our borders, many interesting buildings can be seen, starting from family houses, through successful reconstructions, to large public buildings such as schools, museums, and libraries. The publication Paths to Poland is a record of two trips aimed at understanding and documenting contemporary Polish architecture within a limited time. In accordance with the idea of the project, under which the trips took place, the content of the publication focuses primarily on buildings realized outside major urban centers and by local architects.
