IMRO VAŠKO

WHY? HOW? WHAT?...

As if we were at the end or at the beginning… The rise of gossip, various disasters, the stressing of society, and the inequality of aspects of global presence increasingly urge diverse forums to articulate fundamental questions. The need for change confronts the discipline of architecture and its academic environment with recurring universal doubts and uncertainties. Slovak architect and architectural theorist Imro Vaško will test strategies and possibilities of architectural thinking in new beginnings in his lecture. Imro Vaško focuses on conceptual and visionary architecture, urbanism, and installations. He deals with the trends of Central European architecture and parallel modernism. Since the beginning of the 1990s, he has been leading the academic platform for architectural experimentation, the Laboratory of Architecture at the VŠVU in Bratislava, and since this autumn, the Architecture III studio at the VŠUP in Prague.

You can also watch the presentation online on the ČT 24 portal or on the iVysílání pages of Czech Television, where it will later be archived. Technical support provided by Diglab AVU.
