This year's non-competitive exhibition of the best in modern wooden architecture created in the past year, the Wooden Building Salon, is literally packed with attractive guests. Another significant guest coming to us is Slovak architect Pavol Pokorný.
On Saturday February 8 at 3:10 PM, interested parties will have a unique opportunity to attend his lecture on the topic "On the Way to Better Houses", in which he will address how the role of the architect and the perception of architecture are changing in the context of the social demand to build more energy-efficient and environmentally responsible buildings.
The lecture will be illustrated with examples of works from Atelier Pokorný from 1993 to the present, focusing on current projects, especially the passive wooden building in Stupava on Kremenica. This building can also be found in the publication Yearbook of Wooden Constructions.
During this afternoon, other international guests will also speak. Austrian architect Matthias Hein and Norwegian architect Geir Brendland.
