"We try to design buildings that are loved, because only such architecture will be cared for and live for a long time." In the academic year 2024/2025, querkraft is the guest studio at FA. Their presence has received the honorary patronage of the Austrian Embassy in Prague. The Austrian architectural studio querkraft has completed nearly 100 projects and realizations both in Austria and abroad since it was founded in 1998. Among them are, for example, the Liaunig Museum, the Austrian pavilion at EXPO in Dubai, the innovative IKEA department store in Vienna, the urban social housing complex HAK, or the extension of the university campus in Linz. The studio has received many prestigious awards, a nomination for the European Prize for Architecture Mies van der Rohe Award, the Austrian Staatspreis Architektur, the City of Vienna Award, and recognition for sustainability for the first car-free IKEA in Vienna and the Austrian pavilion for the world exhibition Expo in Dubai. The studio also represented Austria in 2004 at the Venice Biennale. The works of querkraft have been published in professional journals and presented at international exhibitions in Venice, Tokyo, Shanghai, Ljubljana, Boston, Bristol, and other cities.
