"Architecture is going through a crisis. It is necessary to begin creating differently: instead of design and aesthetics, we need to be inspired by the deep laws of nature, which is an incredible treasury of genius constructions, shapes, colors, systems, and even randomness. It shows us how to live with mistakes and avoid causing disaster."
Martin Rajniš is an architect, urban planner, educator, and lover of freedom. His name has been associated with projects over the last two decades that demonstrate a new perspective on issues such as sustainability, ecology, and the social responsibility of architecture. The starting point of his work is the philosophy of "natural architecture." Martin Rajniš studied at ČVUT and AVU and worked in the legendary Liberec studio SIAL in the 1970s. From larger constructions like the Máj department store in Prague and the new center in Smíchov, he moved to smaller objects made of natural materials like wood and stone. Since 2012, he has been operating under his own studio, Huť architektury, and as a "huťmistr," he leads a team of people dedicated to the idea of renewing architecture in the spirit of its original mission: to humbly serve people and provide solutions that respect existing buildings and the landscape.
