Since the time humans began to perceive the reality around them, they have had a tendency to surround themselves with beautiful things. Architecture belongs to the category that is understood as functional art. Like other artistic movements, architecture has gone through various periods. In today's world, where we solve everything in motion and speed, modular architecture is gradually asserting itself. Every artistic movement, including modular architecture, has its staunch supporters and staunch opponents. These are two extreme opinions that no one can influence. However, most people operate between these two extreme opinions. To the detriment of modular construction and consequently of modular architecture, most opponents of modular construction are mainly due to ignorance and lack of information.
September 16, 2010 will see one block of the event "Intersections of Architecture" dedicated to modular architecture.
One of the speakers will be Ing. Martin Hart, marketing director of KOMA MODULAR CONSTRUCTION, which is a leading manufacturer and supplier of spatial modules from which modular buildings are constructed. The event will take place at the building of the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Civil Engineering, ČVUT in Prague, Thákurova 7, Prague 6. The goal of the discussants is to present the possibilities of modular construction so that architects are not afraid to design buildings using this construction method where its advantages, mainly the speed of construction and favorable price, can be utilized. The fact that modular construction is applied abroad and that it is successfully designed by architectural studios in various corners of the world is evidenced by the attached photographs of implementations.
