As part of the Eyes of Brno cycle, on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 5:00 PM, there will be a lecture by architect Jan Sapák, titled "Adolf Loos, the power of the message of his architecture and inspiration," held in the conference hall of the Moravian Library in Brno, Kounicova 65a.

"Everything happened before World War I...," says the speaker, architect Jan Sapák, an architect, architecture theorist, journalist, and university teacher, who studied at the Faculty of Architecture at VUT under Professor Alois Nový (1978-81).

For the subsequent three years, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts under Jiří Kotalík. From 1984 to 1988, he worked in the Liberec design institute (Stavoprojekt Liberec), where he was an assistant to Miroslav Masák. Together with him and also with P. Pelčák, I. Vavřík, Z. Jiran, and M. Němec, he co-founded the informal association of architects Obecní dům in 1988. From 2006 to 2011, he was a member of the board of the Czech Chamber of Architects in Prague and also became the first vice-chairman. In the spring of 1989, he co-founded the Brno Forum. He publishes in professional journals in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Throughout April, there is an exhibition "Adolf Loos: The World Traveler" taking place in the foyer of the MZK. The mayor of the statutory city of Brno, Ing. Petr Vokřál, has taken patronage over the Eyes of Brno cycle. Admission is free.
