We cordially invite you to a discussion at the Czech Centre Prague (Rytířská 31, P1) on December 10, 2014, at 6:00 PM on the topic: About Architecture More! No. 4: A Place for Everyone The last in the series of discussion evenings on architectural topics with the magazine ERA21, moderated by Marcela Steinbachová.
Discussion on urban development in cities where life is good. Danish architect Bo Christiansen, who focuses on issues of sustainable society, will participate in the discussion. Moderated by Marcela Steinbachová. What is the development of cities that regularly rank at the top of international quality of life assessments? What makes these cities exceptional, and what visions do they have? What inspiration can we draw from them, and where are our reserves? Copenhagen architect Bo Christiansen has confirmed his participation in the debate. We will confirm other participants later.
Bo Christiansen (*1964) is an architect from Copenhagen, having studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and Washington University. Since 2004, he has been working for Scaledenmark, which focuses on sustainable society issues, and lectures at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad. He collaborates with organizations such as Scaledenmark and Guiding Architects. Marcela Steinbachová (*1975) is one of the few architects of the younger generation. In addition to her architectural practice at Skupina studio, she promotes architecture. In 2001, she founded the independent civic association Kruh, which, among other things, organizes the nationwide holiday Architecture Day. She has taught at the Academy of Fine Arts Prague at the School of Architecture as a teaching assistant to a professor and currently serves as a specialist editor for the bimonthly architecture magazine ERA21. Her projects include, for example, the Franz Kafka Center, which she designed together with American architect Steven Holl, the expansion of a farm in Swiss Mohren, the permanent exhibition of the Transport Hall of the National Technical Museum, and the renovations of Prague cinemas Světozor and Aero and the theater in Ostrava.
