Five years ago, I attended a lecture by MVRDV when I basically knew nothing about them and therefore I don't really know who was speaking. However, I was excited by it, and since then I have been following MVRDV. That's why I decided to attend this lecture by Winy Maas. I hope there will still be an opportunity to visit the rest of the November Talks 2022. I liked the idea that Winy mentioned and I strongly identified with it, that a Holocaust museum should scream, not be neutral, and not hide away. It should be expressive. I found it interesting to observe the schemes and his explanations of what and why is done in that concept, even though it didn’t win, it makes sense to me. That's why I also like Daniel Libeskind's Holocaust museum in Berlin, which I would like to visit one day. It has a very deep idea and appears outwardly as it should. Overall, I was intrigued by how they work with greenery and that they train it to exist in the environment they want. The small plaza they created in Tainan to improve the environment also caught my attention. A lot of the ideas presented in the lecture seemed controversial to me, but I enjoyed that I could think about them.
