On Monday, October 7, 2019 at 5:00 PM, there will be an introductory lecture by the new visiting professor at FUA TUL: landscape architect and urban planner Mark Johnson from the Denver-based studio Civitas, in room F13 at the Faculty of Art and Architecture of the Technical University of Liberec, Husova 73.

The projects of landscape architect and urban planner Mark Johnson encompass social, economic, and natural systems. His work focuses on the redevelopment of brownfields and neglected sites. He combines redesign of infrastructure, transportation, land planning, public spaces, and environmental systems for the transformation of entire urban areas. His notable projects include the redevelopment of Stapleton Airport in Denver, the master plan for the revitalization of the Los Angeles River, the Miami Park Museum, and the Embarcadero in San Diego. In recent years, he has collaborated with the Prague Institute of Planning and Development on the development strategy for Václav Havel Airport in Prague, and in Brno, in cooperation with the City Architect's Office, he participated in the development strategy for the area known as the Southern Center.

The lecture will be in English and is open to the public.
