Josip Plečnik, an outstanding Slovenian architect who also worked in the Czech Republic, played a significant role at this school in the past. From 1910 to 1921, he served here as a professor of architecture and significantly influenced the contemporary generation of young architects,” explained Rector Prof. Jindřich Smetana, as to why UMPRUM initiated this festive evening. Visitors can look forward to a lecture on the significance and historical context of the Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord project by Prof. Jindřich Vybíral from UMPRUM. Pastor Dr. Jan Houkal will introduce them to the current operations and other functions of the church. The program will also include a tour of the church's crypt for the visitors. The event is open to the public.
