Lecture by German architects as part of the Architecture Week Ostrava festival:

April 27 at 6:00 PM | Antiquarian and Club Fiducia

The lecture is divided into two blocks; in the first, the architects will present the Congress Center Ferry Porsche in Zell am See, which is currently represented in the exhibition "International Relations. Young Architects from Germany" at the Architecture Cabinet of the Ostrava House of Art. In the second block, they will present their further work. The lecture is organized by SPOK in collaboration with Fiducia, GVUO, and with financial and organizational support from the Goethe-Institut in Prague. The lecture will include consecutive interpreting, and admission is free.

"We are organizing this event with the supportive approach of the Goethe-Institut in Prague; without their financial contribution and organizational assistance, I cannot imagine carrying out this lecture in Ostrava. Architectural lectures have a long-standing tradition at the Antiquarian and Club Fiducia. We are pleased to enhance this tradition with a lecture by the architectural duo Gerold Perler and Ruth Scheurer. It was this club that, under the dramaturgical leadership of Martin Strakoš, initiated architectural themes in Ostrava."

"Gerold Perler and Ruth Scheurer are further significant personalities that SPOK is trying to invite to Ostrava to present their work and achievements, but also to show these guests Ostrava as a city that cannot be overlooked on the map of Europe. Guest speakers who have visited Ostrava at the invitation of SPOK include, among others, Damjan Prelovšek (Slovenian historian, world specialist on the work of architect J. Plečnik, photographer), Ita Heinze-Greenberg (German historian specializing in the work of architect E. Mendelsohn), Zygmunt Świechowsky (Polish historian, expert on Romanesque architecture, photographer), Romana Schneider (German historian, curator of the exhibition "International Relations. Young Architects from Germany"), Thomas Mayer (German architectural photographer), and others."
Jaroslav Němec, Chairman of the Civic Association SPOK
