The event will take place in English via the Zoom platform, as well as being live-streamed on the Facebook page.

As part of the warming-up event, Robert Trafford from the Forensic Architecture team will discuss the research work Triple-Chaser (2019), which will be presented at the exhibition opening in the summer of 2021 at tranzit.sk under the title “Life, Death, Love, and Justice”. When Forensic Architecture received an invitation to the 2019 Whitney Museum Biennial in New York, a controversy was meanwhile growing on the other side of the country. Tear gas was used against asylum seekers and migrants in Tijuana at the US-Mexico border. The tear gas manufacturer, SAFARILAND, was owned by Warren B. Kanders, the vice-chairman of the Whitney board. In response, Forensic Architecture premiered their investigation TRIPLE-CHASER at the biennial. In partnership with Praxis Films’ Laura Poitras, TRIPLE-CHASER examines the use of SAFARILAND tear gas against civilians worldwide. The work showcases newly developed machine learning techniques by Forensic Architecture suitable for open research and explores possible connections between another company linked to Kanders, Sierra Bullets, and the shocking violence exerted by Israel at the Gaza border in 2018, when 150 civilians, including 35 children, were shot during protracted protests in Israel. The investigation contributed to a live activist movement, which ultimately led to Kanders resigning from the Whitney board after Forensic Architecture and other artists threatened to withdraw from the exhibition.
Robert Trafford is a scientist and open-source researcher working within the Forensic Architecture group, and is one of the coordinators of the TRIPLE-CHASER project. He will present the agency's work and subsequently engage in an in-depth discussion about the TRIPLE-CHASER project, illustrating how this multidisciplinary and cross-border collaboration typifies the agency's investigative practice.
The event is part of the exhibition Life, Death, Love, and Justice, curated by Didem Yazıcı and Peter Sit.
