Clubovka 2022: ONO architecture - Bratislava lecture

Ono architectuur was founded in 2007 by Gert Somers and Jonas Lindekens. The studio is interested in a very diverse range of projects that draw inspiration from the local and historical context, from 50s films to the classicism of Claude Ledoux. Contrary to the trend, Ono architectuur seeks to practice architecture as a craft, considering the building as a whole: from the doorbell to the urban ensemble. The act of construction forms a continuous driving force for the design of their projects. They use common building materials and display them as they are (allowing them to age), while simultaneously creating special figures and spaces. They deviate from common images to enable new interpretations and references. In this way, Ono architectuur follows an architectural language that is capable of establishing a connection with the local context, its past, as well as its future.
