The next part of the lecture and discussion cycle "Smart City", in which the association Pěstuj prostor presents the penetration of the "smart city" concept into urban planning and city management, will focus on the area of mobility. It will take place on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 6 PM in the creative zone DEPO2015 on Presslova Street in Plzeň.
While the introductory part of the series provided a general overview of the "smart city" concept, the subsequent parts look at specific selected areas where the principles of the "smart city" can significantly enhance or innovate the quality of services provided. The second part of the cycle will address the theme of mobility, in which smart solutions find a number of ways to apply, whether in systematic traffic management, planning public transport, or even in individual movement. What data can thus be worked with, and how can it be utilized for thoughtful management of urban space, so that a multimodal environment for the movement of all its users can be created?
The director of the Spatial Information Section at the Institute of Planning and Development of the Capital City of Prague, Jiří Čtyroký, will talk about spatial information and its use for planning sustainable mobility. Independent transport expert Vojtěch Novotný, who collaborates with several city transport companies, will then reflect on the traffic situation in Plzeň in his contribution.
The admission fee for the event is 60 CZK. Tickets will be available on site and in the pre-sale.

The third part of the series Smart City, prepared with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the city of Plzeň, and the Czech Architecture Foundation, will take place on April 26 at 6 PM again in DEPO2015. It will focus on the phenomenon of "smart city" in the context of the environment and energy.
