Znojmo - Znojmo has already obtained a building permit for the reconstruction of the former riding school, which is part of the Loucký Monastery complex. A cultural and creative center is set to be established within, featuring a hall for 800 people, a capacity that Znojmo currently lacks. The city leadership has therefore prepared a request for a grant, which it aims to obtain from the National Recovery Plan from the Ministry of Culture, stated the city's spokeswoman Soňa Bystřická in a press release. The total costs for the restoration are estimated at 102.5 million crowns.

The Loucký Monastery was acquired by Znojmo from the state in 2010 and is a cultural monument. The city has been gradually repairing and reconstructing it. Given the size of the building, it is, however, a matter of many years. If the city is successful with the request, it could receive 70 million crowns from the state for the riding school. The reconstructed facility could host cultural and social events, conferences, and exhibitions. The city has already gained 12 partners who would be able to hold up to 200 events annually here. These include both private enterprises and local associations or contributory organizations.

In addition to the main space of the riding school, there will also be areas suitable for an art studio, music and theater rehearsal rooms, a space for leisure activities for children and seniors, and other possible uses. This will be the original two-story space of the former stables and officers' quarters. After the dissolution of the monastery by Emperor Joseph II at the end of the 18th century, the building later served the Austrian army and then the Czechoslovak army until the 1990s.
