Prague - Almost 60 locations across Prague will come alive today with design, fashion, and art. The 13th year of Designblok is starting today and will last until October 9th. It will offer products from both international and local designers and fashion creators. Personal attendance at Designblok has been confirmed by the world-renowned top model of Czech origin, Petra Němcová, jewelry manufacturer Roberto Coin, designer for the sports brand Adidas, Jeremy Scott, French designers from studio 5.5 designers, and the authors of the new Olympic torch for the upcoming global sports event in London.

The five-day exhibition Designblok '11 will showcase current trends in furniture, lighting, and clothing design through a total of 220 presentations. These events will take place throughout Prague. Visitors will also have access to so-called Superstudios, which will concentrate the latest trends in contemporary design over thousands of square meters. Jewelry and fashion lovers, as well as fans of ecology, will head to the Špork Palace on Hybernská Street, while the office building Futurama in Holešovice will focus on presentations of interior design and home accessories.
At the New Scene of the National Theatre, there will be a presentation of the new Tip Ton chair by leading contemporary designers - the London duo Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby. For art enthusiasts, exhibitions will be prepared at the Museum of Decorative Arts, at the Center for Contemporary Art DOX, or in a small gallery in Rudolfinum.
A novelty of this year's edition is the Designblok Dreft Fashion Week project, which will present current fashion trends. These will be introduced to the public through fashion shows, discussions, and other events. Models will be presented by Czech designer Liběna Rochová and Klára Nademlýnská, among others. Leading foreign brands will also be present, including the fashion house Escada, Max Mara, and the luxury shoe manufacturer Christian Louboutin.
