Lázně Bohdaneč

Bohdaneč Spa – The former Hotel Technik in Bohdaneč Spa in the Pardubice region is being transformed by a private investor into a Home for Seniors and a home with special conditions. The building had been abandoned for a long time. Milan Kušta, an entrepreneur, told ČTK.

The hotel is owned by Kušta's company Living for Senior – Bohdaneč Spa. "We are currently preparing a complete reconstruction; we are already carrying out construction work there,” said Kušta.

The hotel has been abandoned since 2013 and focused on training and education. It had 50 double rooms and three quadruple rooms, a hall for 120 people, a reception, and a bar. The town hall had received an offer to buy it for 12.6 million crowns, but the councilors rejected it. Since then, the property has deteriorated.

"The building was completely devastated; only the load-bearing structures remain, everything else is being done completely anew. It will be a facility of high standard, it will have its own garden, there will be a kitchen, and public services. Seniors can come there for lunch, for therapies, to see doctors,” Kušta said. According to him, the modernization should be finished by the middle of next year.

According to Kušta, there is interest in senior homes not only in the Pardubice region, and the demand does not cover the supply. The facility is to have 92 beds and create 30 to 50 jobs. "I am glad that building this necessary facility in our city is successful,” added Deputy Mayor Josef Štěpanovský (ODS).

After the construction is completed, the property will be purchased by the investment fund Property Fund for Living, which is already negotiating the conclusion of a long-term lease with a healthcare facility. A potential interested party is Penta Hospitals CZ, which operates hospitals in Sokolov, Vrchlabí, Ostrov, and Roudnice nad Labem. "The agreement is getting closer, but it is not finalized, I would not comment on it further,” Kušta added.
