Pardubice - A new exhibition from September 3 will showcase the future appearance of the visitor center and the social tract of Pardubice Castle. People will see studies by architects Eva Jiřičná and Petr Všetečka, the East Bohemian Museum announced today in a press release.

The core of the representative spaces will be the social hall on the third floor. At the time of its creation, it was the second largest representative hall in Bohemia after the Vladislav Hall at Prague Castle. Until last year, it housed an exhibition of glass.

The studies propose to add a representative foyer below the hall and also facilities for catering, cloakrooms, and hygiene needs. This will connect the second and third floors so that both large halls in the northern wing form a whole. The proposal includes a newly integrated representative staircase.

"Being involved in the reconstruction of Pardubice Castle is a wonderful opportunity to give local residents and visitors the experience that this exceptional monument offers," said Jiřičná.

The construction of a visitor center and exhibition spaces in the farm buildings is being undertaken by architect Petr Všetečka. The building, from which the gallery will move out after 2022, will be renovated. A modern visitor center will be established on the ground floor, and new permanent exhibitions of the East Bohemian Museum will be located on the first upper floor.

The castle has been undergoing repairs costing 19 million crowns since last January, with the work expected to be completed in the spring of next year. The region wants to have additional projects ready to follow, said Deputy Governor Roman Línek (Coalition for the Pardubice Region).
