Vyškov - New parking spaces will be added this year at the housing estates in Vyškov, and the town hall will also manage the wild-growing greenery. The budget for repairs to the housing estates Dukelská, Palánek, and Smetanovo nábřeží includes 12 million crowns. In addition, the regeneration of the Osvobození housing estate will begin for 11 million crowns, which is the youngest of the housing estates but is in the worst condition. Its residents are mainly troubled by parking, insufficient road capacity, and also by neglected greenery, said Mayor Petr Hájek to ČTK.
The panel buildings in the Osvobození housing estate are built too close together, leaving too little space for cars, playgrounds, and green areas by today’s standards. Therefore, the town hall has planned a 60 million crown renovation of the housing estate. This year, the first phase will begin, for which the town wants to obtain state funding. "The town will primarily build new parking spaces, modify the roads, eliminate unsuitable and unused playgrounds, and replace them with new ones in more suitable locations," said Hájek. A park and a relaxation area are also planned.
The regeneration of the surroundings of the panel buildings in Vyškov began last year. At the end of the year, builders modified the Tyršova housing estate. Among the panel buildings, they created an artificial hill and planted greenery on it. "This terrain mound will be designated for the smallest children for winter sledding with a run-off onto the playground," said Hájek.
The repairs at the housing estates are funded by the city from the housing fund, where money from the sale of apartments is deposited. The city does not want to take out loans; it is one of the few municipalities in South Moravia that has no debts to banks.
