Moravská Třebová (Svitavy) - A shopping center is expected to open this year at the site of the burned-down Hotel Morava in Moravská Třebová in the Svitavy region. The construction company is likely to complete the work in the second half of the year. Dušan Sejbal, the head of the construction and urban planning department, told ČTK.
"At this moment, the facade is being completed, and the electrical installations are being created inside," he added.
The hotel burned down in 2011 due to a fault in the electrical installation. Firefighters had to evacuate it, and no one was injured at that time. The original owner had the destroyed building demolished and later sold the land to another investor for 1.5 million crowns.
The city has committed to establish a parking lot for about twenty-five vehicles near the site. In the past, the hotel had only about two parking spaces. "The parking lot, where the city is a co-investor, will be completed by the end of October. I expect that the shopping center will be finished around the same time or by the end of the year," Sejbal said.
The Brno entrepreneur has gradually adjusted the project. It was originally supposed to be a hotel again, but there will only be two apartment rooms in the attic space. The restaurant will be located in the basement, a grocery store is planned for the ground floor, and there will be shops, for example, with clothing, on the first floor, Sejbal added.
