Val. Meziříčí - Valašské Meziříčí in the Vsetín region has completed the construction of a funeral ceremony hall. People will be able to view the building in the cemetery grounds on Saturday. The construction costs amount to 30 million crowns excluding VAT, and the funds came from the city budget, the town hall spokesperson Renata Votrubová informed ČTK in a press release.
The building has been approved, and final adjustments and interior details are now being completed. "I am glad that the city has acquired dignified spaces for the last farewell with their loved ones with the new funeral hall," said Mayor Robert Stržínek (ANO). It is now in trial operation. "The ceremony hall will serve its purpose from January next year," the mayor stated.
The building, designed by Brno architects Lukáš Pecka and Ivana Smětáková, is located at the main entrance to the cemetery grounds. The hall has a capacity of 200 people, with 60 seats available. A new facility for storing funeral urns, so-called columbarium with 234 slots, and a place for a scattering meadow have also been created. Access to all areas is barrier-free.
