Valašské Meziříčí - Valašské Meziříčí in the Vsetín region is preparing a competition for the contractor of the project documentation for the restoration of the right bank of the Rožnovská Bečva in the city center. A riverside promenade will be created here according to the architectural study prepared by the studio Chybík+Krištof, the city hall spokesperson Jakub Mikuš informed ČTK today. The city councilors have already approved the commencement of project works.
The plan includes a complete restoration of the beautiful bank of the Bečva, including the market. "Necessary landscaping, lighting in the area under the bridge, and related furniture will of course not be missing. During the preparations, we agreed with the Moravian River Authority on the form of the entire area after demanding discussions. In the coming years, a riverside promenade will be created here, which will further enhance the attractiveness of our city center and connect with the renovated bridge, Mostní street, and the new square," said Deputy Mayor Yvona Wojaczková (ANO).
The city expects that the cost of project works will not exceed 1.5 million crowns. "If everything goes according to plan, construction modifications should take place in conjunction with the repair of the adjacent road bridge, which is part of the route through the city," the spokesman stated. The Directorate of Roads and Motorways plans to start work in 2025, according to him.
