Prague - Experts will discuss solutions to the current housing crisis at two conferences in Prague today. The first will take place in the morning at the Top Hotel, and the second in the afternoon at Žofín. Real estate prices in the Czech Republic have significantly increased over the last three years, for example in Prague by about 75 percent. The supply of apartments has been consistently lower than demand.

The morning conference will feature attendees such as Minister of Finance Alena Schillerová (for ANO), President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce Vladimír Dlouhý, Deputy Minister of Regional Development Marcela Pavlová, and economist Michal Mejstřík. "The construction of new apartments is insufficient and hampered by an inefficient and slow approval process. Last but not least, new rules for housing financing are coming into effect," states the invitation.

At Žofín, speakers will include the Minister for Regional Development Klára Dostálová (for ANO), Chairwoman of the National Budget Council Eva Zamrazilová, Hana Pejpalová from the State Housing Development Fund, and the Chairman of the Association of Towns and Municipalities František Lukl.
