Ostrava - Two constructions have begun in the Ostrava Zoo that will significantly change its appearance. In the rear part of the zoo, a safari is being created, through which visitors will one day travel by train directly among the animals. On the opposite side, a new entrance area has started to be built. CTK was informed by zoo employee Stanislav Derlich. The current entrance to the zoo will be demolished. In its place, a new area will rise that will offer visitors better service. There will be more ticket counters, a larger souvenir shop, and restrooms. In the upper part, there will be offices for employees. "We are preparing a temporary entrance to the area. Then we will start demolishing the old one. I expect that the demolition will take place this year," said Derlich. Part of the entrance area will also be an extension of the parking lot. The new part of the parking lot will be connected to the streets Stromovka and Michálkovická. Additionally, a new parking area for zoo employees will be created within the zoo with a capacity of 30 spaces.
