Kladno – In the Kladno area of Vojtěšská huť, the revised regulatory plan will allow for greater development in the original industrial zone. Until now, stricter rules were in place, which limited local entrepreneurs, most of whom protested against them. The change approved by the council this December is a compromise between preserving the protection of local industrial monuments and supporting the interests of companies. This was stated by Kladno councilor Petr Drnec (ODS) to ČTK.
In the area, dozens of companies operate, employing several thousand people, for example, in smaller manufacturing, storage, and similar fields. "The original wording of the regulatory plan was detrimental to businesses," said Drnec. The regulations were too strict regarding criteria for land utilization, the number of floors, areas of use, and so on. The new rules will also help preserve the local character and protect local industrial monuments and other historical objects, while not limiting business activities.
The Vojtěšská huť regulatory plan concerns the Kladno territory over an area of 113 hectares, the location is also known as Koněv. In the 19th and 20th centuries, there was metallurgical production here, and now there are dozens of companies. Nearby operated the Poldi steelworks, which was several decades younger. The zone also features a technical monument, a lime kiln, a former coking plant, and the historical industrial hall Strojovna, where cultural events are held.
Regulatory plans clarify the development of the city, which is primarily defined by the zoning plan. Kladno has four regulatory plans, in addition to Vojtěšská huť, they concern the city center, the area around Štechova street, and the Podprůhon district, which is one of the oldest parts of the city.
