Jihlava - A scientific and technological park and a technology transfer center will begin construction in Jihlava this fall, costing approximately 470 million crowns. The project has already been promised a 300 million crown subsidy from the European Union. The investor is the non-profit organization Energoklastr CTT Vysočina, which was established by the South Moravian Energoklastr. Jan Rakušan, chairman of the Energoklastr board, said this today to CTK. Among the other partners in the project are universities and the regional Chamber of Commerce. The first scientific and technological park in the region will focus on technologies in energy and will enable the connection between research, schools, and the business sector. The building permit for the park has already been issued, and preparatory work is currently being carried out to start construction, Rakušan explained the situation. Due to the construction of the park, the investor has also agreed with the Vysočina region to purchase two hectares of land in the Jihlava industrial zone of Hruškové Dvory. They will pay over nine million crowns for it. The new specialized workplace will focus on technology transfer in energy, reducing energy intensity, materials engineering, and projects related to the use of biomass. It will include laboratories, an incubator for start-up entrepreneurs, and facilities for lifelong learning. In the future, more than 100 jobs could be created in the scientific and technological park. The project also involves the Czech Technical University in Prague and Mendel University in Brno. The subsidy will be provided by the Operational Program Enterprise and Innovation. Efforts to establish a scientific and technological park in Vysočina have been ongoing for several years. Initially, the construction was supposed to be secured by the Jihlava Polytechnic, which, however, was unable to secure funding for co-financing. Last year, the region also retreated from efforts to establish a specialized workplace in the Jihlava industrial zone.
