Ostrava – The company Vítkovice, a. s., and Infinit will build a wellness center in the reclaimed but still unused part of Lower Vítkovice in Ostrava over the next three years. It is expected to stand out due to its location, architecture, and ambitious concept. Eva Kijonková, spokesperson for Vítkovice, said this to ČTK today. The value of the investment has not yet been disclosed by the companies, as the final project is not yet complete.
Vítkovice, a. s., is the owner of the land and the carrier of the entire project, while Infinit operates similar centers in Prague, Brno, and the Central Bohemia Region. “We want to create a unique wellness center of European significance together with Vítkovice. The center will offer the latest trends and, taking into account the genius loci of Lower Vítkovice, will be truly exceptional,” said Vlastislav Novotný, owner of the Infinit wellness center network.
The companies are currently preparing studies, visualizations, and the project. Novotný stated that the Ostrava wellness center could open in 2024. According to the agreement, Infinit will then lease it and operate it for at least 30 years.
The open area behind the Great World of Technology in Lower Vítkovice is, according to the companies, an ideal location for this type of new recreational facility, as there is currently no similar establishment in Ostrava or the Moravian-Silesian Region. “The area designated for wellness and accompanying facilities, such as parking, is approximately 40,400 m². The location connects to Gong, the Small World of Technology U6, the Great World of Technology, and the future urban footbridge that will bring cyclists and pedestrians from the right bank of the Ostravice River directly to Lower Vítkovice, right to the Great World of Technology,” stated Rodan Broskevič, chairman of the board of Vítkovice, a. s.
