In Brno, houses will be built for 340 people near the Kamechy housing estate

Brno - Construction of a residential complex named Rezidence Vrbovec is set to begin south of the Kamechy housing estate in Brno, likely starting next year. Approximately 340 people will find housing in family homes and terraced houses. The site will cover an area of six hectares on the location of a former agricultural complex, according to a document on the EIA Information Portal.

The land also borders the Vrbovec Mill and is bounded to the south by the Vrbovec stream. Before construction can commence, the zoning plan needs to be changed. The developer, Colonico, divides the area into three zones: pure housing, general housing, and recreation.

The pure housing zone plans for 34 family homes with plot sizes ranging from 500 to 2000 square meters and nine row houses. The second zone will include six houses, and in the southeastern recreational area, which borders the Eliot riding club, there will be tennis courts, a small multifunctional hall, and a fitness center.

The residential complex is to connect to Hostislavova Street via the existing access road, which needs to be repaired and widened.

In recent years, Brno has been running out of available apartments. The reason is the outdated zoning plan, which has caused developers to postpone some projects, as well as a good economic situation where many people are buying apartments as investments and renting them out.
