Ústí nad Orlicí – Ústí nad Orlicí is completing the construction of a new House of Children and Youth in the former Perla 01 textile factory area for nearly 100 million crowns. It is scheduled to open in September. Before that, it will be necessary to equip the building's interiors. This was stated by Mayor Petr Hájek.

"The completion date is July 31, and the occupancy permit is expected in August. Early September is for moving in the interiors, and by mid-month, the House of Children and Youth should already be operating in the new premises," said the mayor.

In the new building, in addition to basic clubrooms, there will also be a gymnasium. In the morning, it will also be used by students of Komenského Elementary School, as the second stage of the school does not have its own gymnasium and is currently renting one. The facility will also include a ceramics workshop, a dance hall, a recording studio, and outdoor and indoor climbing walls. A green roof with a relaxation area will also be accessible.

Construction began in November 2019. The city obtained a European grant of 30 million crowns from a program that supports the repurposing of brownfields, and it is also financing it with a loan. Additionally, about 15 million crowns will be allocated for improving the surrounding public space following the project.
