Trutnov has completed the repair of the swimming pool for 75 million crowns

Trutnov – The town of Trutnov, with a population of thirty-one thousand, has officially completed a vast renovation of its outdoor swimming pool today. The pool will open to the public on Tuesday. The renovation of the pools and the entire area lasted nearly a year and cost 74.5 million crowns. Last summer, the pool was closed for repairs. This construction was the largest current investment by the city.

The main part of the renovation was the installation of stainless steel pool tanks, which should be almost maintenance-free. The original pools were made of ceramic tiles, which were already in very poor condition. "Every year, we spent about 700,000 crowns on repairing the tiles at the pool. Water was also leaking from the large pool,” said Mayor Ivan Adamec (ODS). According to him, hundreds of thousands were also spent on the maintenance of machinery and other items.

The builders connected the lagoon pool with the children's pool, modified the technologies, and installed new engineering networks. The pool area has gained new water features and attractions. The total water surface increased by seven percent to 1,451 square meters after the renovation. The water in the pools will be heated to about 25 degrees Celsius. The pool's capacity remained at 2,500 people.

The pool managers will now be able to respond better to the arrival of warm weather and adjust the start of operations accordingly. In recent years, when nice weather arrived as early as May, the pool had to remain closed because masons were repairing fallen tiles.

The renovation of the Trutnov pools was one of the largest investments in swimming pools in the region in recent years. On Thursday, June 25, the town of Opočno in the Rychnov region opened its renovated Broumar swimming pool. The investment amounted to over 30 million crowns.

The Flošna swimming pool in Hradec Králové was the first in the Hradec Králové region to start the season this year, opening on May 25. Subsequently, swimming pools such as Kníže in Jičín, Včelné near Rychnov nad Kněžnou, the pool in Chlumec nad Cidlinou, in Náchod, in Dvůr Králové, and in Lodín near Hradec also opened.
