Broumov (Náchodsko) - The textile company Veba from Broumov in the Náchod region today opened a training center, which is the first part of the newly emerging Congress&Wellness complex in the area of the existing Veba hotel resort. The construction costs amounted to over 40 million crowns, of which about a quarter will be covered by a grant from EU funds. In addition to Veba, public and private entities from the region will also be able to use the services of the training center, informed CTK by the general director and co-owner of the company, Josef Novák. Veba is one of the leaders in the textile industry in the Czech Republic. "The training center corresponds in capacity and technical equipment to the constantly growing educational needs of the company, and will primarily be used for ongoing professional training, education, increasing the skills and competencies of Veba employees," stated the company, which employs about 1250 people. The center will also provide conference services for organizing corporate events, seminars, conferences, management meetings, and other activities for groups of up to 60 people. Veba is already building a wellness services building on the premises at a cost of around 55 million crowns, which will also include a twenty-five-meter swimming pool. The company intends to offer the pool for swimming lessons to educational institutions in the city. Veba is building the wellness center without a subsidy. The entire complex is expected to be completed by the end of 2016. In addition to the Veba hotel, which has accommodation capacity for 63 beds, the resort also includes the nearby Manor House hotel with a capacity of 22 beds. Thus, the textile company is one of the largest providers of hotel services in the Broumov region. Veba is the largest Czech textile company producing garment fabrics and textiles for households, with only a few manufacturers of technical textiles ahead of it in terms of turnover. The company's revenue increased by 3.5% last year to 2.12 billion crowns, and profit rose by 15% to a record 332 million crowns. This year, the company plans to grow its sales to 2.22 billion crowns. The main product of the company is cotton brocade, which Veba developed specifically for the African market.
