Pardubice - The Building of the Year 2011 in the Pardubice Region in the category of engineering and transport structures and public spaces became the Multifunctional Transport Terminal in Jan Perner Square in Česká Třebová. The victory in the category of civic amenities was awarded to the reconstruction of the Capuchin Monastery and Gardens into the Museum of Baroque Sculptures in Chrudim. ČTK was informed about this by the spokesperson of the Pardubice Region, Magdalena Navrátilová. The competition is organized by the Pardubice Region in collaboration with the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians active in construction, the Union of Builders in the Czech Republic, and with the professional cooperation of the Czech Chamber of Architects. The terminal with an underground parking lot in Česká Třebová was built by the city for 330 million crowns, of which 173 million crowns was obtained from European grants, the rest was covered by the city itself. The Museum of Baroque Sculptures was created from the shut-down deconsecrated Church of St. Joseph; the costs, including a grant of 40 million crowns from European funds, rose from the original 67 to nearly 100 million crowns. It was opened last week. Both buildings were also nominated for the national competition Building of the Year. The Česká Třebová terminal advanced to the finals, and the winning buildings will be announced on October 3. In the Pardubice Region, the jury also awarded four special recognitions. These were awarded to the Pardubice Integration Center for Social Activities Kosatec, the covered swimming pool in Litomyšl, which is also in the finals of the national competition Building of the Year, the modernization of road II/340 Seč - Běstvina in the Chrudim area, and the reconstruction of the leisure activities center in Nekoř in the Orlickoústecko region.
