Lovosice - The Railway Administration will repair the train station building in Lovosice, located in the Litoměřice region. It has announced a tender for the contractor for the project worth 175 million crowns. The implementation is planned from April next year to August 2025. Nela Eberl Friebová, spokesperson for the Railway Administration, informed ČTK about this today.

The current station building was constructed in 1968 during the reconstruction of the entire station. The building, with a vestibule perpendicular to the tracks, was designed by architect Josef Danda. According to the spokesperson, the original character of the building will be preserved during the reconstruction. The work will include insulation of the building's outer shell and roof. The reconstruction of the heating source, distribution networks, and electrical installations is also intended to reduce operating costs. A parking lot and bicycle spaces will be created near the building. The Railway Administration has already obtained a building permit.

At the station, builders have been constructing barrier-free platforms, a public address system, and an information and orientation system for passengers since the middle of this year. The most important part of the work for the city is the extension of the underpass to Máchova Street. Until now, people have shortened their journey from the Nové Klapý district to the train by crossing a busy railway corridor that is used by express trains to Germany.

At four platforms, the edge is raised to 550 millimeters above the track, which is at the level of entry to modern trains. People will have access to all platforms via elevators. New shelters and lighting will be constructed above the platforms. The area will be monitored by cameras. Necessary adjustments will be made by experts on traction lines. Contractors must complete all work by the end of this year, which is a condition for obtaining European funding. The total cost of the entire construction is approximately 440 million crowns.

The Railway Administration is also preparing three more constructions on the corridor, specifically a section from Lovosice to Prackovice nad Labem and from there to Ústí nad Labem, and on the other side from Lovosice to Bohušovice nad Ohří. The most important construction on the corridor from Kralupy nad Vltavou to the German border is the introduction of the European safety system.

Train stations in the Ústí region are gradually changing their appearance. The most extensive work currently concerns the restoration of the heritage-protected dispatch building in Teplice, one of the largest in the Czech Republic. The first phase of the work, which includes the reconstruction of the façade, replacement of windows, and roof renewal including structure, will be completed in the first quarter of next year, Pavel Tesař from the Railway Administration told ČTK today.
