February 4 – 7, 2016 should be marked by all fans of modern wooden architecture. During these days, the 11th edition of the Timber Construction Salon will premiere, the largest non-competitive showcase of the best that has been created in the field of modern wooden architecture in the past year. This year, a total of 40 constructions will be presented, including 23 projects from the Czech Republic, 16 from Slovakia and 1 from Austria. Friday afternoon will be dedicated to foreign architects who will present their projects at a professional conference at PORT 58 restaurant (Tusarova 857/58).
Juri Troy, Haus 37m
Austrian architect Juri Troy will present his Haus 37m, whose work is linked to the region of Vorarlberg. There will also be a representative from Slovakia, Peter Mandl, who will present his pier with a café on the Danube. Our northern neighbors will be represented by Polish architect Magdalena Zawada with the Solominy cottage.
Fans of the domestic architectural scene can look forward to lectures by Czech architects of the Mosaic of Timber Constructions. This will traditionally take place on Saturday, February 6, from 16:00 to 18:00 in the auditorium of the accompanying program of the Timber Constructions fair at the Holešovice Exhibition Grounds.
Local creators will be represented by Marie Davidová from COLLCOLL and designer Tomáš Bém. The lecture block will be opened and moderated by Pavel Horák. After that, the Timber Construction Salon 2016 will be ceremonially opened.
Registration for the afternoon block of lectures is possible until February 1, 2016, at the email address salondrevostaveb@prodesi.cz.
All presented constructions will also be featured in the publication Yearbook of Timber Constructions 2015, which visitors can purchase on-site or at the e-shop www.domesistore.com.
After its Prague premiere, the Timber Construction Salon 2016 will move to the Center for Contemporary Architecture and Design Archa in Bratislava.
