Děčín – The interior spaces of the restaurant at Pastýřská stěna in Děčín are set for renovation. The city council has approved the preparation of the project. The city is preparing a tender for its development. In previous years, the city had the basement remediated and the façades, including windows, repaired. Damaged windows were replaced with new ones, while other craftsmen restored according to heritage protection principles. The structure is statically sound, but it is necessary to modify the interior spaces for the renewal of the restaurant operations. This was stated today by the city spokesperson Luděk Stínil in a press release.
"It is a great shame that one of the landmarks of our city cannot be fully utilized, which is why we are preparing the modernization of the interior spaces, so they can once again serve the public. We also want to pay attention to the restoration of the surrounding area, including access paths," said Deputy Mayor Anna Lehká (Choice for Děčín).
The city is currently preparing to announce a tender for the development of project documentation, which will be based on the proposal from the city architect. The facility is to feature a new gastronomy operation for a restaurant and café. This will include the replacement of electrical, water, and flooring systems.
The restaurant building at Pastýřská stěna, referred to as the castle or also the little heaven, has stood in Děčín since 1905. It was built as a stone inn with a lookout tower in the then-fashionable imitation of a romantic castle. The building is protected as a monument and belongs to the city. In the past, there was a restaurant here; for the last two years, it has been without a tenant, and the city operates a bistro called Bistro Nad Ferratou here during the summer season through the City Tourist Center.
