Rakovník – Rakovník is preparing a comprehensive renovation of Husovo Square, aiming to utilize subsidies. Until the end of April, the public can submit comments on the published study. The city leadership will then decide whether to begin processing the project documentation this year, which is expected to cost approximately nine to ten million crowns. Luděk Štíbr, the mayor of Rakovník, stated this to ČTK.
Whether a tender for the project will be announced this year will depend on the city's financial situation, according to the mayor. This will be influenced, among other things, by whether it is possible to start some other investments; it is already clear, for example, that the repair of several bridges will not take place this year due to uncertain prices of construction materials. "There is a vision that calls for reconstruction of city and municipal centers from European funds should appear in the coming years," Štíbr stated. He also added that it is currently difficult to count on this, as the situation could be affected by the impacts of the war in Ukraine. However, the city council wants to be prepared for potential subsidies, as the usual condition for their allocation is completed project documentation.
After the adjustments, Husovo Square should be more attractive for local residents as well as visitors. For instance, a water feature is expected to be added, and it will also be possible to drive through Poštovní Street on the square, with a space for cultural events being created in front of the town hall.
