Prostějov - The City Theatre in Prostějov has launched a new website ahead of the upcoming season, which includes a virtual tour of the building where the theatre is located. This was stated today by the director of the City Theatre in Prostějov, Jana Maršálková. About 50,000 people visit the theatre each year. "The previous website served the theatre for five seasons and was in dire need of an update. I believe that visitors will quickly navigate through it and find all the necessary information," Maršálková said. According to Maršálková, the website is an important source of information not only for the audience but also for guest theatres. The site features detailed information about the stage, the backstage area, and the technical equipment of the theatre. The website also includes a ticket reservation system. The theatre is located in the National House, which is a national cultural monument. Therefore, the new website also offers a virtual tour. "People can view the National House from all angles, both outside and inside. The tour allows them to explore the decorations in the smallest details, with pop-up windows containing photographs of details as well as essential basic information about this architectural gem," Maršálková noted. The National House in Prostějov is an Art Nouveau monument of European significance. It is one of the city's landmarks. The National House was built between 1905 and 1907 according to a design by a leading figure of Czech Art Nouveau, Jan Kotěra. Its purpose was to create a cultural and social center of the city with a tavern, theatre, and spaces for associations. Painters Jan Preisler, František Kysela, and sculptors František Sucharda and Bohumil Kafka contributed to the construction.
