PŘÍBRAM - Příbram today began the reconstruction of roads and sidewalks in Hynka Klička Square in the Březové Hory district. The costs will amount to 7.5 million crowns, with 3.7 million crowns covered by a grant from the European Phare fund, and the rest funded by the city from its own resources. The construction is expected to be completed in June. Alena Straková from the information services department of the Příbram city hall told ČTK.

In addition to the reconstruction of roads and sidewalks, the green area from the fallen soldiers' memorial to the Mining Museum will also be adjusted. At the same time, a parking lot will be built, which will primarily be used by museum visitors. The reconstruction will also include the repair and expansion of gas distribution networks in the square and some surrounding streets.
The tender for the construction contractor was won by the company STRABAG. The reconstruction should not cause significant traffic problems; detours will follow designated routes.
Last year, Příbram received funding from European funds for several projects related to the Mining Museum. For example, a new local road will be built on Nad Štolou Street, which will serve as access to the Drkolnov mine with its unique water wheel. The European Union also contributed to the construction of a small railway, which will transport visitors between the museum exhibits at Březové Hory with an electric train.
