Topolánek removed Jehlička from the black Peter position and gave it to his opponent Bém.
Prague - Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek (ODS) continues to count on the construction of the new National Library (NK) building, he said after today's meeting with Minister of Culture Václav Jehlička (KDU-ČSL). However, he agreed with the minister that the competition for the new building was chaotic and will likely lead to further problems. He reminded that the government's priority is the reconstruction of the National Museum and the main headquarters of the National Library in Clementinum. Compared to his earlier statements, the Prime Minister indicated that funds for the new building are allocated "in time." Previously, the Prime Minister and then the Minister stated that there was a lack of money for the library in the state budget. Proponents of the construction, on the other hand, argued that funding for the library's construction would be a matter for the budgets of several more years. Topolánek also mentioned that any potential problems related to the library case cannot be attributed to the ministry but rather to the city. According to the Minister of Culture, there is no risk of arbitration, as the director of the National Library Vlastimil Ježek believes. The condition for initiating arbitration is said to be the devaluation of the investment. However, the Minister is still having an independent legal analysis of the situation prepared. He did not rule out that if the analysis reveals mistakes in Ježek's procedures, he could be removed from his position.
