Prague - Ten years ago, on October 11, 2003, the brick observation tower was ceremonially opened at Klucanina near Tišnov. The nearly thirty-meter-high tower, standing at an elevation of 402 meters, offers views from two platforms located at heights of 21 and 24 meters. A lookout tower once stood on Klucanina hill. The wooden tower was built by the Club of Czech Tourists in 1934. The grand opening was attended by the popular comedian Vlasta Burian and wrestler Gustav Frištenský. For the residents of Tišnov, the tower was a favorite excursion spot, where lemonade and Olomouc cheese were sold in the refreshments area on the ground floor of the tower. However, the neglected tower had to be closed and demolished in the 1950s, leaving only a three-meter stone base. The idea to restore the lookout tower at Klucanina was initiated by the association Rozhled na Tišnov. The project was created by architects Helena Chvílová and Luboš Chvíla. The current tower resembles the original wooden one in appearance, and from the tower, it is possible to look out over the Tišnov area and the peaks of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands.
