Prague - Prague will commission a study for the development of Rohanský and Libeňský islands, where a park is to be created near the Vltava River. This was announced to journalists today by the Deputy Mayors Petr Hlaváček (for TOP 09) and Petr Hlubuček (STAN). Development is planned on Rohanský Island. The first buildings are expected to rise opposite the Invalidovna metro station, and the overall development of the area will take decades.
"The extensive waterfront has great potential to become a metropolitanly significant, naturally landscaped park in the river floodplain, a recreational space with a direct relationship to the city center and close ties to the planned construction on the right bank of the Vltava," said Hlaváček.
In addition to city representatives, the shaping of the park will involve representatives from Prague 7 and 8, as well as experts and specialists, including landowners.
On Rohanský Island, the planned development will house 5,000 residents, and thousands more will work there in offices. Construction will take place on the land between the bike path and Rohanský waterfront.
