Praha wants to rebuild the Old Town Market and bring markets back to it

Prague - Prague wants to rebuild the historic building of the Old Town Market, which is located in the courtyard bordered by the streets of October 28, Rytířská, Perlová, and Na Můstku. Traditional markets are to return here. The city council decided today to announce a contract for the creation of documentation for the reconstruction for 28 million crowns. This information was confirmed by the spokesperson of the magistrate, Tereza Králová.
     The ground floor of the monument-protected building currently serves as a shopping center. Individual shops and restaurants are built into the historic building. For the average visitor to the shopping center, the historical value of the market is only reminded by the decorated passage from Rytířská Street. Beyond that, people can only see part of the building's roof structure through the built walls and ceilings of the stores, which reveals a glass view in one place.
     Prague wants to remove the built structures and restore the sale of food and other products in the building. "The returned purpose of the building will allow for the restoration of the architectural value of the monument-protected structure," states the approved material.
