Prague – The former Kuželna building on Horská Street at the edge of Prague's Podskalí is set for renovation. The Prague 2 municipality will have its project developed, as the building is in poor technical condition. The adjacent park will also be repaired. This was announced today by Prague 2 spokesperson Andrea Zoulová. The project is expected to cost a maximum of two million crowns.

"We had a structural assessment of the historic Kuželna conducted, which answered many questions for us. The building and its surroundings underwent significant last changes at the end of the 80s, and its current condition is emergency. Nevertheless, this place is still a meeting point today, and we would like to utilize its potential," said Deputy Mayor Jan Korseska.

Despite its poor technical condition, the building still serves as a clubhouse with refreshments and a bowling lane for the local club's matches. In the future, people could sit by a campfire in the summer, grow vegetables in a community garden, or simply relax. The municipality also wants to renew the outdoor sports facilities. In addition to utilizing the bowling alley with facilities for players and spectators, the municipality envisions a restaurant operating here. A rooftop terrace with a view is planned to be created on the building's roof.

The municipality has been working long-term on the revitalization of the area between Horská, Albertov, Ke Karlovu, Apolinářská, and Na Slupi streets. For example, the Ztracenka garden has been renovated, where new paths were created in what was originally almost impenetrable terrain, workers planted trees, and installed lighting.
